Wiretap is officially online.
This project was created with one simple objective: build a modern cybersecurity forum while keeping the atmosphere, simplicity and community-driven nature of the classic cyber forums many of us grew up with.
Wiretap is not intended to be another disposable forum or an unmoderated marketplace. The goal is to build a long-term community focused on cybersecurity, privacy, technical research and knowledge sharing, while keeping the platform legal and accessible.
About Wiretap
Wiretap currently provides dedicated sections for :
- Blue Team and general cybersecurity
- Red Team and authorized penetration testing
- Reverse Engineering
- Malware Analysis
- CTF and Wargames
- Programming and security tooling
- Linux and BSD
- Networking
- Privacy and OPSEC
- Community discussions and Off-Topic
Offensive-security discussions are welcome when they involve systems you own, labs, CTF environments, research environments or systems you are explicitly authorized to test.
Wiretap does not allow stolen databases, unauthorized access sales, carding, ransomware distribution or other illegal activity.
The objective is to keep the technical freedom and culture of traditional cyber forums without turning the community into a platform for criminal activity.
Privacy
Wiretap was designed around a minimal account system :
- No phone number is required.
- No member email address is collected.
- Registration only requires a username and password.
- No advertising trackers are used.
- Password recovery is currently unavailable.
If you lose your password, you lose access to the account. This may change in the future if we develop a recovery system that does not require collecting personal information.
Server-side security logging is intentionally limited and retained only for a short period for abuse prevention, troubleshooting and infrastructure security.
Current Access
Wiretap is currently available exclusively through Tor.
Onion:
http://cpdt5zvhn4iy7srtlj47cymvn3o63wvgu...3qd.onion/
A clearnet version of Wiretap is currently being prepared and will be released soon.
The Onion Service will remain available after the clearnet launch and will continue to provide an alternative way to access the same community.
Ranks & Roles
The current account system is intentionally basic, but a more complete rank and role system is planned.
Future versions of Wiretap are expected to introduce community ranks based on activity, reputation and contribution.
Examples may include:
- Member
- Active Member
- Senior Member
- Researcher
- Contributor
- Trusted
- Moderator
- Administrator
Specialized roles for areas such as Blue Team, Red Team, Reverse Engineering, Malware Research and CTF may also be introduced.
The intention is not to create meaningless cosmetic ranks, but to make it easier to identify members who consistently contribute useful technical content to the community.
Reputation & Trust
A more complete reputation and trust system is also planned.
The long-term goal is to give members a way to build a recognizable reputation through useful posts, tutorials, research, writeups and community participation.
This system will eventually become particularly important for features such as the marketplace and trusted-member sections.
Legal Marketplace
A marketplace is planned for a future version of Wiretap.
It will be strictly limited to legal goods and services.
Examples of content that may eventually be allowed:
- Programming and development services
- Security consulting
- Authorized penetration-testing services
- Graphic and web design
- Server administration
- Open-source or original software
- Security tools created by their authors
- Digital services and other legitimate technical work
The marketplace will not allow compromised accounts, stolen data, unauthorized access, malware services, carding, fraud, illegal goods or similar activity.
Additional trust requirements, account age requirements and reputation restrictions may be introduced before users are allowed to create marketplace threads.
Research & Community Features
Several additional systems are being considered for future releases:
- Thread and user reputation improvements
- Custom profile badges
- Verified researcher roles
- Tutorial and writeup sections
- Resource sharing
- Better private messaging
- Improved moderation tools
- Security research tagging
-Community events
- CTF events and challenges
- More advanced account permissions
- Optional account recovery without email
- Additional privacy improvements
These systems will be introduced gradually rather than installing dozens of unnecessary plugins at once.
Security and stability remain more important than adding features quickly.
Official Telegram
Updates, maintenance notices, new features and important announcements will also be published through the official Wiretap Telegram channel:
https://t.me/wiretapforum
Any other Telegram account or channel claiming to represent Wiretap should be considered unofficial unless confirmed directly on the forum.
Thank you to everyone joining during the first release.
This is only the beginning.
More features, ranks, roles, community systems, the legal marketplace and the clearnet release are already planned.
Stay tuned for future announcements.
